Dear Joe,
You have been posting on this board probably longer than any other person. You have given much valuable advice and contributed much during that time. That however does not give you any right to behave in a manner that may be offensive to others.
We are all guests here. As guests, we all have to abide by the hosts standards, even if we don’t agree with the hosts standards. Would you allow someone into your house if they used bad language in front of your wife and kids? If they denigrated friends or beat other visitors?
Of course you wouldn’t. Why? Because you have certain values, that you hold dear and you wouldn’t want them eroded by a guest.
For all intents and purposes, Andy Engel is the host here. If Andy says, ” Mark, your language is offensive to others, your behaviour is not in keeping with the values that Taunton place on this site.”, what right do I have to argue? Keep in mind, I am the guest. My values may be different from Tauntons, but when I’m in their house, I have to live by their rules, not mine.
Go and stand in the corner Joe and cool off.
Kind regards with ( I hope ) constructive criticisim,
Mark
