I am wondering if anyone has installed an indoor jacuzzi jetted tub outdoors?
My customer is planning to do it and I am wondering what problems could come up?
It is very mild here and rarely freezes. I am thinking a light bulb next to the pump when it gets cold or maybe mount the pump indoors. water in the lines could be a problem if it did freeze, though. so maybe the light bulb would work best to heat all the plumbing components. thoughts??

The interior unit when installed in a normal situation has only the designed internal parts exposed to moisture.......plumbing, jets, pump, tub interior, heater and the drain system.
Other parts......electrical components, pump motor, insulation, controls, mechanical connection are designed to always be within the stable environment of the interior of the house and do not experience temperature or humidity extremes.
Now take that unit outside and install it.....
The normally wet sections will probably do alright, except for freeze/thaw........and if they forget to turn on the light bulb!?
BUT the normally dry components are now exposed to conditions they were not designed for and therefore will degrade and fail....most through corrosion.
And the time frame will be surprisingly short before you see these results. I would be cautious about the electrical components being installed in a wet/moist environment that they are not designed or classified for.
Of course it is the customer's option to install it outside......and if you help you are legally culpable as a contractor, because you are supposed to be knowledgable about abnormal/unsafe conditions.
I would be hesitant about doing this installation without spelling out the dangers and possible shortcomings in a simple document with a dotted line to have the customer sign that he acknowledges the improper installation.
And even with that you still are liable. Even if you are good friends, and if you make his wife a widow, you very well may suffer for your decision.
Be cautious!!!
