What about Cellulose and fiberglass?
Is it because the foam if wetted at all would tend to definitely get any wood in contact with it wet enough to start rot and make a nice home for the insects?
*There is Borate infused EPS available which the co mpany I use does not charge extra for, but does not use unless requested for SIP's. I also suggest in an area where creepy crawlers are a problem to treat the area immediately surrounding the house with a reppelent once a year or according to instructions to prevent infiltration at the source.It is my view that an entire colony of ants will never do enough damage to an EPS panel that is properly treated to even start to bring the performance down to the level that Fiberglass performs at.
