What type of adhesive should I use to install seventy year old 3/4 x 42 inch varied widths (up to nine inches) pine boards in a small mud room? The area without the blocking is a short corner run of three feet on each wall. I figure I can nail into the bottom plate but I didn’t install blocking at the top. I hope I don’t have to cut out the drywall to do it right.
Thanks in advance

Thanks again for the tip IMERC. As a carpenter wanna be I have to admit I don't know what the method of "zipper pin" is. Could you tell me what it is and how to do it?
counter angle the pins into the drywall for mechanical holding power..

I've got a similar job coming up. I'm planning on using Loctite Power Grab. I really like how it doesn't skin over quickly like the PL products, it cleans up with water and it's got a realy high initial tack.
It's probably not as strong as PL premium, but I figure I don't really need strength to hold paneling to the wall. Oh, did I mention I'm installing beadboard paneling? Well it should still work on your T&G, but the PL premium is might be a better bet and skinning over won't be as big a concern since your pieces are much smaller.

Thanks for the optional tip. I'll keep this type in mind for the future.
If you shoot the nails at an angle, it will definitely hold well enough, and certainly enough for the glue to set up. What he probably means by zipper is nailing at an angle to the right and left at the same spot. This keep it from moving anywhere.
