The thread on sealing the bottom of drywall to the sub-floor brought back this question of mine. Since the long edge of dry-wall is tapered, and generally hung horizontally, do any of you do anything special to that edge when installing baseboard?

wouldn't that edge be at the very bottom?
And only 1/8"
as an amateur I would say do nothing.
But that's why i'm an amateur.
the answers will be good to read.

When I remember I'll leave any screw heads at the bottom proud by ~1/8". Baseboard rests against the heads preventing it from following the tapered edge.
If I've forgotten to leave them proud, when I'm running base I'll add some. Or back a few out.
