I’m installing 5-1/2″ crown, spring angle 38 degrees, in one of my rooms. I intend to cope all inside corners. This particular room has a “coffered” or “dropped” area in the shape of an octagon which results in inside angles greater than 90 degrees( 135 actually). Can crown be coped at an angle other than 90?
Thank you!

Yep ,possible but.....
Cope gets paper thin, might want to reconsider the miter.

Dewalt miter tables for proper angle... do samples first. You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.

miter and glue
typically the 135degree corner is dealt with a miter. unlike a mitered 90 degree corner which is a clear sign of poor quality installation, the 135 degree mitered corner is acceptable practice in terms of quality . for one it's much quicker, and secondly the amount of backwood neccessary to make it work will greatly weaken the corner making it more likey to break during installation.
would you cope exterior crown at the peak of the rake?
