hi, does anybody know of any literature or fhb issues about installing a flatscreen tv on the wall. i know about securing the wallmount bracket properly, but what about the outlet for the tv and the rest of the cables? do you just make a hole behind the tv in the sheetrock? any help, please.

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

This is a new kind of appliance.
I'll be watching your thread here too. I just had a customer ask me to design a center for one of these where theree is a closet now. There will be a bookcase/entertainment center that hinges and swings out where the closet door is now, and in behind will be a safe for important documents etc.
For most appliances, there is a site online that has all the size and pertinmet data from manufacturers. I can't remember where it is right now....

I'm inserting a link to some pics here on BT of a Plasma we put behind a large painting. IIRC the AV installers placed a retro box with the back cut out for all the AV wires to be terminated in. The electrical outlet was also behind the TV. It seems to me that we had a spec sheet from the manufacturer that gave the needed locations for the boxes. http://forums.taunton.com/tp-breaktime/messages?msg=20861.27 is the link to the photos.
Hope this helps.SPEEDOSAURUS FEST '07
