I am planning to use some hardwood flooring that is recycled from a local gymnasium floor. I have searched for and have been unsuccesful in finding any similar flooring. The design of the tongue side is very unusual, it has a slight groove under the tongue and I am concerned that if I nail it in the usual fashion the tongue will split out. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the pattern with Horner Flooring (hornerflooring.com) in Dollar Bay, Michigan. They perhaps made it, or else might tell you who did. regards, Jim
Thanks Jim, I have sent them an e-mail.
should be ok w pneumatic gun, pushes fastener thru quickly if you marry old to new, merge along one course use table saw to rip tongue off, blade height just above tongue to avoid damage to face get flooring bit for router and cut groove into ripped face, same height as groove on new stock see if commercial made spline (slip-tongue) fits in, or fabricate one out of same species
