Hello All,
I have used the Kerdi system for some time now.
However for a project coming up, I need to install the drain in a slab; which I have never done.
I am going to remove the old slab, re route the plumbing and pour a new slab.
How do I Install the Kerdi Flange to the ABS and pour the slab below and flush to it.
Some insight would be appreciated.
Thanks Ron

I replaced a shower that had an existing sloped slab to the drain, ABS plumbing, but I was not moving the drain.
I just drilled out 2" or so around the edge of the ABS pipe, enough to allow the flange of the Kerdi drain to sit flush with the concrete.
I cut the ABS to the correct length using a Dremel with a cut-off disk.
Dry-fitted, then used modified thinset to bond the flange to the slab at the same time as applying the solvent glue to make the plumbing connection. Then feathered out 6" around the edge of the flange with thinset to flush it with the slab.
I did not fill the void under the flange with mortar, as there was no practical way to fill it yet also make the plumbing connection. Not a problem as the flange was in rock solid after everything set up.
In your case, I'd make a new sloped slab first, leaving room around the ABS to later set the Kerdi drain. Since you are using the Kerdi membrane and re-pouring a slab, no need for a mortar bed on top of the slab unless you really want that void filled or will only remove enough of the slab just to run the new drain.
