Having trouble figuring out how to install puck lights that require a separate transformer–they’ll be in a built-in bookcase and will be controlled by a wall switch. The lighting supply house sold me the transformer, but it has one set of terminals for lights, and I have six to install–of course the instructions are totally unclear, but assuming I need a separate device to connect to the transformer that has enough terminals for all of the light?
Also, the instructions say that the wires should be run in tracks instead of just stapled/secured to the cabinet–is this necessary? Do the wires themselves get that hot or is this to protect them from getting nicked/poked?
Thanks for any tips!

do you intend to switch the lights or the transformer???
sugest you switch the transformer...
but it has one set of terminals for lights, and I have six to install--
wire the lights one to the other in parralell....
of course the instructions are totally unclear,
nothing unusual about that...
but assuming I need a separate device
what device would that be???
to connect to the transformer that has enough terminals for all of the light?
two are enough...
the instructions say that the wires should be run in tracks instead of just stapled/secured to the cabinet--is this necessary?
using the right style of track makes the job look so much more professional...
Do the wires themselves get that hot
no...
or is this to protect them from getting nicked/poked?
yup...

Thanks for the info--wiring the lights in a string makes total sense--just had it in my head that all of the lights would be wired to the transformer, so thought I'd need a separate unit with enough terminals.
Thanks again!
you can still do that with two terminals...
just gang the wires....

if you don't want to string the lights together go to Radio Shack and get a bus bar to give you individual screws for each light...
