Looking for some feedback on insulating a closed-in porch that has 2 x 10 floor joists, elevated approx. 5 feet from the ground and will be heated. The floor has been sheathed and will be wonder board and ceramic tiled. Is it better to insulate the floor and close in the under side with plywood? Or will that trap moisture?

Source of moisture will be any bare dirt in the crawl space, or air-borne moisture from the sides.
Brings up questions: Is the 5 ft area under the porch floor walled in? Latticed? Vented crawl space? What climate? We'll need to know those facts.
Almost exactly what I dealt with last week. I had some disagreement with what the Architect suggested and what I thought would last more than a week. We went with sprayed in urethane. Posted a pic in the photo gallery last week. It solved a lot of issues, and the floor is decidedly less, hmm, drum sounding. Might look in to that. It is still a decent idea to cover the underside of the joists to keep the insulation protected. Critters apparently like the stuff for nesting.
