I came across a note about using 1 inch or thicker rigid insulation for floor insulation and taping the joints. Can someone explain how this is done so that plywood is added without crushing the insulation then moving on to adding say a laminate floor over the plywood? I am thinking that 2X4 stips added on top of the insulation, how is the floor leveled, etc? In my basement foor projects I used a vapor barrier then used 2X4 studs on side but getting the floor level was tough and it was hard work drilling through concrete to secure the studs to the floor. My back was sore for weeks. Thanks

Last time did a bsmt floor nailed down 1x2 with concrete nails, 3/4 styrofoan in between the sleepers on 24" spacing. Flor was flat to start with.
Also have done a floor with PT 4x4 @ 4 ft span on concrete pads on 4 ft by 4ft grid, 6 mil poly over the dirt and pads before 4x4s go down, 3" styrofoam, 1" ply plywood floor. Anything you want on top of that.
You don't really need the
You don't really need the sleepers. Tape the foam, and use extra long tapcons. Just don't over-drive them and start in the middle. You will need to keep an eye on that level for sure.
Why would you need to build up the floor with laminate. Can't you just float it over the concrete?
