I want to insulate the cellar in my weekend cabin in Ontario. The space is about 5 ft. high and about 500 sq. ft. The walls are rubble, rough and uneven, the floor is dirt and rock and uneven, and the ceiling has different size log joists randomly spaced. I keep my solar equipment in the cellar among other things. I heat the cabin on weekends only….not the cellar, though. Since the space is damp I thought of spraying something on the walls or ceiling. I want to do it myself. Any suggestions?…….Mauri

I've been working on a similar but not same problem.
There are some good ideas in past streams.
Use the search at the top left corner of the messages list.
Search "basement insulation" and "crawlspace insulation"
Or search by number..... the ones I found useful were
38584.19 and .20
52913.15
15993.4 or .9
2123.11
52148.21
The basic jist is if it's damp you need a vapor barrier on the ground and insulation up the walls. For more details see the streams I list.
Hope that's helpful.
