I currently have an unheated basement that I use as a workshop. Its unheated except that the furnace and ducts (forced hot air) are in the basement. I would like to insulate the floor under the first floor. Any reccomendations? What type of fiberglass insulation? Vapor barrier required? Where should the vapor barrier face? I don’t like the idea of fiberglass being exposed, since the vapor barrier usually faces the heated area. Is it worth the $ to do the project.
