A 16′ by 32′ basement room has an engineered concrete slab ceiling that forms the floor of the garage above. No supports within the open space.
It is storage space, not living space, but would be nice to insulate at least moderately from the varying garage temperatures to provide more even seasonal storage temperatures.
Are there any systems out there?
2″ extruded foam panel glued in place? Nailed through furring strips (which would allow drywall to be attached – though that would heavily weigh the connections).
Thanks for your help!

If I was building now I would use ICF decking system.
I have office and shop space under my garage.
In the office I glued blue board and then glued ceiling tiles to that.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Yes, insulating the slab would moderate the temps in the storeroom area...even reduce potential moisture condensation on the slab's cold surface.
Please consider a spray-on close cell foam to accomplish your needs. In my area it is quite cost effective. Check your yellow pages for insulation/insulators/foam, and get a price quote for 2" od spray-on!
...............Iron Helix
I use a product called http://www.insul-deck.org check it out
Thanks. That looks like a product for new construction, not for insulating my pre-existing slab ceiling. (Let me know if I am mistaken)
Gluing rigid foam is probably the best choice we've come across other than having it sprayed on.
We're in the process of doing the same as you.
