Hey ya’ll. I need some yankee know how.
First, we do very few crawlspace foundations in the part of the country(Tx). Also I’m going to do a unvented conditioned crawlspace with the HVAC equipment in the crawlspace.
How do you attach the ridgid foam insulation board to the cmu stem walls. Do you do it with fasteners or adhesives.
Thanks for ya’lls help.

I'm sorry if I offended everyone. I was just trying to be friendly.
I would really like some help here. Again how do you recommend attaching ridgid
insulation to the stem wall of a crawlspace foundation.
Again I thank you for your help.
Well, I'm a GC, not an insulation contractor, but I would use a combination of the 2 methods, e.g., a good smooge of const adhesive (make sure it's compatible with the type of insulation you're using) with a couple of fasteners per sheet to hold it til the adhesive dries.
Just curious - are you using the crawl space as a plenum for the heating system?
Thanks for your reply. I guess that I should have posted it in the construction catagory. I had HVAC on my mind.
No I'm not going to use the crawlspace as a plenum but with any forced air system the air leaks at the duct and the air handler can be substantial. I'm trying to at least salvage this leakage from being totally lost.
I got the idea from and artical by Nathan Yost, M.D. entitled "Crawspace Desigh" (I don't think the M.D. stands for medical doctor) I thought it was a very interesting article. I got it off the Building Science Corparation web site.
Thanks, All comments welcome
I attach batts with a Hilti gun, but see no reason to do that with rigid sheet. Any construction adhesive will hold it just fine. Its way stronger than the foam.
