Hi Everyone,
I have a 3′ length of Type B vent that naturally gets pretty hot when the heater it is attached to kicks in. Its properly spaced away from anything combustable, and high enough so no one will bump up against it, yet. That said, I’d like this to be “idiot proof” so that no one accidently decides to reach up and touch it.
I would not rather frame around it and drywall it in, but wanted to know if there was some type of insulation or wrap that is designed to be placed over type B vent so that anyone touching it could not get burned.
Thoughts?

Just a caution. That vent needs airflow thru it to function, so don't encase it in such a way that it can't draw air thru itself .
Thanks
