Yes, though not in contact with flue pipes, unless they are rated for it.
Definitely OK on ducts. In fact several companies manufacture insulated ductwork. A couple of different types of insulation are used but one of them is the standard yellow fiberglass insulation.
I'm insulating parts of my house WITH ductboard,,..foilfaced compressed 'glass..if ductboard is insulation I am sure insulating ducts with insulation is OK..<G>
