Can anyone suggest what is a good interior siding for a workshop. Ihave seen some pine t/g boards. But they are to pricey. And someone suggested osb. But that would look like a dull. Any suggestions. Thanks Hat

Actually, OSB is not a bad choice, especially if you paint it. I renovated an old shed into a chicken house this summer, DW got involved and we ended up with a little more of a polished version than I'd planned, but anyway...sheeted the inside with 7/16" OSB, primed it w/oil-based stainblocker and put on two coats of ext. Ben Moore acrylic latex.
The OSB sucks up a lot of paint but the results were better than I'd expected and, especially for a shop, you'd have a relatively inexpensive wall that's pretty durable and you can screw and nail and hang stuff from.
Off with their heads!!!
One's too pricey, one's too dull. Is Goldiloks in the room? She can find one that's just right!
If you can find a store that is being remodeled try to get some slatwall.
Hat,
I went through the same decision recently. Found out that about the least expensive stuff you can put on a wall is drywall. If you don't want drywall because its a shop and you want to have walls you can hang things on, 1/4" underlayment plywood or BCX (sanded one side) is relatively inexpensive. Another option that is not too pricey is 1/4" luan veneered plywood. Then there is the plywood based or hardbord based paneling. These are the least expensive options that I found.
My father in law has a "casual" lake cabin that was built in the late 60's. He used Aspenite (OSB's predecesor) and varnished it. Time has darkened it to a nice pleasing amber color. Every couple of years he puts a new coat down & it looks great. Would make (me thinks) a great shop wall.
