I’ve been looking on the internet for tool sources and came across lowpricetools.com, the online catalog og William Alden Co, Taunton Mass. They have some great buys on tools. Has anybody had any experience with this supplier? Are they reputable? Also, what’s your opinion of the Delta 12″ bandsaw, model 28-190. Is this a good bandsaw to start off with for an amateur woodworker? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I have dealt with the Willian Alden Co. and received exactly what I ordered for exactly the price quoted, This was several years ago, before I or they had internet.
Can't help you on the Delta,I've got an old Sears, works fine. There is no substitute for BIG when it comes to bandsaws though.
I've got a big metal saw I bought used for less than the Delta. Patience is the key to used. Joe H
*Before you decide on the Delta, take a look at the Jet 12" bandsaw. It's got a solid cast iron frame and table (as opposed to the Delta's aluminum table), and is generally built like a much bigger saw. I've been using mine for about six months and it's smooth, quiet and powerful enough for anything I've thrown at it. For the price ($299 at Lowe's) you absolutely can't beat it.
