From the 50s on up until around 1961 these electric mangle irons were produced.
Might anyone know if the heating elements can be repaired or is it necessary to replace them?
I don’t know what type of heating element was used as I have yet to see the machine in person.
It is my hope that it is not an ceramic encased element. Might someone know any specifics involving these machines?
Thanks

No clue, but I haven't seen one of those in years.
Had one in our basement laundry area when I was a kid.
Yes, this is my introduction to manglehood.
Elderly lady asked me if I would look at it.
She's been using in for a long time and I figure it is an important thing to her.
I asked the son about it and he said everything works as normal but no heat so my first thought is the element
but as to knowing much about them you might say I am out of my element.
be elementary my dear WatsonLet the thunder crack and the waves roar, we're going on.
Seems likely that it wouldn't be too hard to find a way to open it up and take a peek. I am thinking it is probably a piece of resistence wire coiled through ceramic insulators. Just my guess though.
They can't get your Goat if you don't tell them where it is hidden.
You might try a small appliance repair shop.Don't know how many there are, but there is one in KC that does mail order parts. And they have been around longer than the ironer.Would not hurt to give them a call/email. Try to find the guy that have been around the longest.http://www.marbeck.com/But you probably need to open it up and find out what kind of heating element that it has. Then searching for a sealed element or coild nichrome wire..

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
