We live in Massachusetts. Is winter an ok time to strip and re-roof an asphalt shingled roof or should we wait until spring?
We’ve been told by a roofing contractor that the roof on the 13 year old house we just bought needs to be replaced. Due to improper nailing of the plywood, the roof is buckling up in some areas of the main house. Also, the asphalt shingles over the cathedral ceiling family room are badly worn (nearly see through in spots according to the roofer). We have not yet experienced any leaks, although we believe previous owners must have. Several areas of the roof show obvious signs of repairs (miss matched shingles, new flashing, ect.)
Thanks
