Is there any point….

Scott | Posted in Tools for Home Building on June 27, 2010 04:18am

…to keeping this: (see pic).

There’s nothing at all wrong with the drill but the batteries are toast. Replacement batteries cost more than I paid for the whole kit.

What a shame. No more cordless tools for me.

Replacement batteries for that are only $7.20 at HF when on sale and with the ubiquitous 20% off coupon.

Probably not the 2.6 or 3 amp-hour ones, are they?

    Really? Didn't know that.

Thanks Art, you made my day.

You do know you need to pull the cells from the HF packs and relocatate to the Makita packs--

Paul - The HF NiCds are 1.2 A-hr sub c cells.

Ahh.... was wondering because I couldn't find direct replacement. No biggie, I found a site that explains how to open the Makita packs (soldering gun).

          Thanks.

I have 2 of those Makitas (second one bought when the first set of batteries died) and I found a place on the net that sold me better batteries than stock for about $30.
