I read the article in the Sept. 2011 FHB regarding the ratings of various jigsaw brands and the author rated the Makita the best. He also conducted one of the tests of the jigsaws for cutting 4″ thick stock and being square. All tests were done with an unknown Bosch blade. With this knowledge in mind I purchased the saw rated the best overall (Makita) by him. My project was to fabricate corbels from 4″ thick stock. I did not know what blade other than it being a Bosch blade and I instead bought a Festool blade for its length. The results were poor and far from being square. Could someone (including the author of the article) divulge what exact model and type blade was used for cutting 4″ thick stock and maintaining a square cut? In addition, what position the orbit control knob was set and any other particulars to achieve a square cut?
Thank you.
