This is not technically homebuilding (or fine!) but I’m thinking you are all are the type to have ideas for this kind of thing.
I have 12 20″ x 30″ pieces of decorated foam core that I am needing to assemble together for use as a backdrop. I’m trying to figure out the best way to join them together and stand them up, while still being able to transport them in a vehicle and disassemble again after the event. I am unable to attach them to a wall at the venue. They are decorated already so I can’t lay them face down to attach join.
I’ve thought of using using a 1×4 to securely attach 3 or 4 vertically together and be strong enough to stand up. At the venue I could stand all of them next to each other and use tape on the back side to temporarily keep them together. I could use shelf bracket and/or another shorter piece of 1×4 at a right angle to make kind of a stand.
I’ve also thought about using smaller strips of foam core across the back to attach a couple together. But I’m not sure how I’d stand them up then. And also I’m afraid it would be too lightweight – there will be air movement and I think it would blow around without something to give it weight.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
