Well, it depends on the product that you are using. Such as corian, that used a chemical fusion and others like avonite that use a mechanical fusion/adhesion. This mainly in part due to whether or not the materail is a acrylic or polyester based.
If you have access to the sheets, then purchase the adhesives and applicator gun from them too.
I'm a tad confused... your title says granite but you're referring to solid surface. Don't know anything about granite but solid surface typically uses color matched epoxies obtained from the distributor.

OK it is granite..... I bought some slabs from a discount store.... all slabs 25x85" you have to fabricate. I'm going to cut it with my handheld wet saw, but I am wondering about joining/ and filling seam to match ect.
When in doubt, get a bigger hammer!
There are many supply yards that now sell premanufactured tops in 26"x8-9', bullnosed and all. Prices in the $200-$400 range.
As for cutting, there are some 5" wetsaws with continuos rim blades that go for about $175 to $300. One brand(Alpha) has a blade for doing the sink cutouts and curved edges in one pass.
As for polishers, there are some for aroud $200ish. With dianonts pad sets under $100. You can pick up a 3/4" bullnose bit for $160-$200.
Try this company: http://www.hardrocktool.com. If you have one around you, they are pretty good to work with
Polyester resin and benzoil peroxide hardener.
