Hey, have any of you guys used or are you using a tool belt by the name of Journeyman Line?
I checked their web site and their products are inexpensive and seem to make good sense. I currently have a set of Occy leather bags that are almost trashed and I was thinking of going with something more lightweight. I also not very tall and I am constanly frustrated with bags hanging to low or just too bulky in general.
Thanks, Brad

yes, thats it. What is your gut feeling on quality?
I guess I'm suspicious, but only based on cost. The Diamondback tool bags are $300 plus, the Oxy are less but still $200 and up, even the Bucket Boss stuff is a lot more. But for $40 you almost can't lose, even if you end up giving it to your helper or whatever. I've been trying to get the right tool bag setup and I think I need to have it custom made, it is just too hard to be satisfied with anything off the shelf. I am currently using Oxy leather bags backwards...

Bought a new set so my tape could be on my left side and use the smaller pouch for my chalk box, 5525. I then use the 5017 on the right View ImageWith the belt and shipping $207.00 and well worth it.
I'm right handed and I find it more comfortable to have the tape on the left. This is the best of the three sets I've had in the last 10 years. I don't wear them out, they get ripped off.Best bags I've ever owned.

Fastcap makes a left-reading tape. Can you get your hand into the fastener bag with those two pouches up on the belt loop?Like Oxy bags. Got five different sets. However, the electrician set I bought was really misdesigned. Klein makes one that works well.

The bag is easy to access, the tape and bag isn't in the way. My work is interior and exterior trim and custom cabinetry so speed of access isn't my need.
When doing interior trim I wear a custom made vest that allows me the basic essentials at my finger tips. This way I'm not saddled down besides I always have my rool-around with all the rest of my stuff near by.
As to the left handed tapes I don't see the need. No matter what I'm doing my tape winds up in my left hand and my pencil in my right when I measure and mark, so putting the tape measure on my left side just makes since to me.
Huh,
I agree, I don't like the tape on the right. Always switching hands with it. And it's in the way of tools in the bag.
I'll remember That, thanks!

I customize my tool pouches. The big pouches I leave alone but the tool holders in front I make custom.
I'ts not that hard but if you want it to look ok it takes a few tries.
Bags can be a very personal choice. I retired my old bags a few years ago and got some cheap ones. I hate them.
I have some new ones I have to set up but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I like big bags that just have one or two compartments. None of that multi pocket stuff for me.
I am exactly the opposite. I must have a spot for every tool, so that i do not have to dig for something at the bottom of a bag, I can just grab for a tool without looking because it is where it belongs.
I am borderline obsessive compulsive when it comes to the tool bag being set up right and efficient. Some guys are fine without this organization but I seem to fall apart.
I'm am certifiably obsessive but in a different way. I like big pockets but empty them out when I change what I'm doing. So I have big accessible pockets with just the tools I need for the tasks at hand. I keep a tool box nearby to change out tools in my belt.
I think guys who dig in their tool pouches and find surprises are slobs.

I was once hanging rock with a guy and he pulled a Taco Bell taco out of his nail bag, took a bite and put it back.
I think he fit in that category. Mike
Trust in God, but row away from the rocks.
