The shower pan will be 48×60
If the membrane is only 33″ do I
just shingle lap the perimeter ?
I sure don’t like the idea of a seam.

By considering things like energy-efficient mechanicals, window orientation, and renewable energy sources, homes can be evaluated to meet the energy codes. Here's what the IRC has to say.

There are installation videos on youtube. I believe you want a minimum 2" overlap set with thinset. I have known several people that have used the system and said they will never go back to a PVC membrane. I believe you can also buy the kerdi membrane in larger sizes.
I'll look for some more videos. I can only get 33" from the one
local supplier- Home despot.
I believe it is all 39"(1 meter) wide.
Buy a Kerdi drain, with it comes a DVD for installation that shows the how 2's.
I was skeptical of the system at first- after doing 9 of them now I don't think I'll ever go back... to many advantages.
The rolls of Kerdi I buy are 1 meter wide....about 39-1/2" wide...not 33".
Is HD selling short rolls?
It's not a problem at all having a seam on the pan. You want to overlap it by 2", and you don't want the seam to fall on the flange of the drain.
Although it's not a Kerdi Tray, I have a few pictures of Kerdi going over a preslope of deck mud on a thread in the Photo Gallery folder.
Here's a link to the thread:

The preslope gets Kerdied starting on Post #23.

Go to johnbridge.com, buy ($10) "The Kerdi Shower Book".
As mongo said.
Also, call schulter and find some other sources, there must be at least a few or buy over the internet. I've seen the stuff at HD and they are quite a bit higher than other sources would be. I bought from these guys last year and everything was good. http://www.tileprotection.com/
Thanks for the help.
I just read through Mongos thread and it answered
my questions nicely. I want to take a moment and say good job Mongo, your
thread is clear and concise. I've been through many
of the instructional videos and what not, none of
them left me with a full understanding like yours. I just needed to know for sure about a seam in
the pan, can't blame me for being nervous about it. Yes HD only sells 33" wide rolls. At least that's
what the VERY knowledgeable salesperson told me. After
I told him they sell it, and found it in his catalogue
for him.
It might be a typo or a mis-read on his part.
1-meter wide Kerdi is about 39-1/2", or about 3'3". The 3'3" might have been turned into 33" by mistake.
Glad the tutorial helped.
