killing dry rot in douglass fir ship lap
will scrubbing with a 50/50 mix of bleach and water kill dry rot? i’ve got some 3/4″ ship lap boards that have a few spots of dry rot that cannot be ground out. the wood will not be structural, and will not be painted (looks good as is for the purpose)
does anyone know if bleach will kill dry rot?
thanks for considering the question.
i searched and only found the use of anti freeze!

Penta works well if you have access to it or can get some from a friend with a stash. .
I think borate is a better chemical for that. It kills and prevents dry rot and discourages insect pests.
Google some words like:
timbor (a powder product that you mix with water and paint on the wood)
impel rods (little "bullet" shaped things you insert into holes drilled in the wood).
Smith's clear penetrating epoxy sealer and epoxy patching compound.

Another vote for the Smith's products, pricey but effective.
