I’ve got someone asking for a project built with Kiln dried presure treated lumber. It’s friday night and the stores are closed. Anyone able to tell my what the compairison in cost is of KDAT to regular presure treated? I’m in Raleigh NC.

Depends on what your customer is asking.......
Most PT lumber is first kiln dried, then it's pressure treated. The result, of course, is that the wetness is obvious.
The only source I know of in Raleigh, for anything other than the wet stuff, is Capitol City Lumber. They're located just across the tracks from Hillsborough street, very near the beltline.
They sell something that they call "#1 pressure treated". It's stuff that has been dried after treatment.
And sorry, but I have no clue what the prices might be.
I won't be laughing at the lies when I'm gone,
And I can't question how or when or why when I'm gone;

So I guess I'll have to do it while I'm here. (Phil Ochs)
If you want Kiln dried after treating, Brooks is the place in Raleigh where I go. They call it "dry". They are near Highwoods. The stuff ain't cheap. I remember paying around $25 for a #1 2x6-16' (I think it was).
What is the application?? I only use KDAT for special applications, like railings, especially painted railings. If not painted, any PT lumber needs to be protected with stain.
