Arthur, Illinois.Hey, it starts with an "I." You were close.AitchKay
I live in the Des Moines area and am not aware of any cabinet outlet. Occasionally a local auctioneer auctions off cabinet special order returns and seconds from local yards, but it would be a huge challenge to get a complete set that would work for your kitchen...
I do recall the discussion about a place in Illinois. Wish it was closer...
Calvin -- your profile says you're in Maumee. Off subject: (Have those houses In Perrysburg that were on the cliff fallen into the river yet?)There is a rather large cabinet operation in Middlefield, Ohio (east and a bit south from Cleveland) -- Kraftmaid. And FWIW, Middlefield is one of the big Amish towns.I used to live in Warren, and in Warren there was a Kraftmaid outlet (ten years ago anyway). If you do a bit of internet looking, maybe some phonecalls, you might hit a jackpot -- dunno for sure.

If it's the ones that are just downriver from PBurg, nope-still there. They are newer, last 10-15 yrs. The old ones in town are still ok too. Some of the old fishing shanty's more towards Grand Rapids might be slipping a little. Other than that-no problems here. I'm still on the hill above the floodplain across from Ft. Meigs.

It's been a long time since I was there......maybe 1980......I'm remembering that as you drove from Maumee into Perrysburg (Maybe it was on the Disie Highway?), the road followed the river, and that as you came around a curve, the road was MUCH higher than the river -- perhaps 100' or more. And there were a small number of homes perched between the road and the cliff -- truly, almost vertical, cliff. And that the cliff was known to be eroding. At least one of those homes already had a leaning garage, and I'm thinking that maybe one or more of the houses was also condemned. A local had told me of them, and I did a drive-by.Not important -- just a memory.I do remember Fort Meigs -- some good family times there.

I started to build our house late '87 I think. The route from Pemberville to Maumee and back I knew like the back of my hand. Up till that time-we'd visit the woods on occasion, but knew not much of Maumee or Pburg. Wood county and BG-knew most of it, a bit of downtown Toledo too from commercial work.
The curve if it's the one I'm thinking of now has new homes built down below the grade of the road. Some interesting multi-mills or close. One has a heated drive-another an open grid bridge/road down to the garage. I think that would be the area.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.
