I alway have a hard time attaching a 2.5″ spacer to a 9″ cabinet (Habitat house). The cabinets and spacer are oak and the face frames are 1.5″. That leaves the cabinet opening at 6″. Hard to get a drill or driver and screw in there. I’m thinking about using biscuits. Any other suggestions?

Thats why RT angle drills were added to my arsenal of goodies.
I have a Makita right angle drill but it doesn't have enough power to drive a long screw into oak.You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.

Souix is plenty stong. And DW has the 18V now. I'd just upgrade my tools. You ARE pilot drilling right? A Taperd bit is all I ever used, with the CS built in. Wax the screw too.
A right angle driver should do the trick. Thanks for the advice on buying new tools....now I can tell the wife I need to buy a new tool. ;)You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.

install the cabinet
scribe the filler to fit
remove the cabinet
screw through the filler to attach to the cabinet
reinstall the cabinet/filler combo
Why don't you just screw a piece of wood to the outside of the cabinet and then attach the filler from behind? Either that or if you have a router with a slotting bit, you can use a spline to join them.
Pocket screws on the back side, then slide it up to the wall & scribe.

pocket holes are the way to go... do it all the time. Good luck.
