I’d like to make a kitchen pot hanger with either a slatwall or a gridwall. However, the accessories look like they will pop out if pot or pan is not removed carefully, as it happens with pegboards. I’d prefer not to use tape or screws. Is there a source for better hooks? Thank you in advance.

It may not be exactly what you're looking for, but this system looks good.

Check out IKEA, I know a bunch of folks don't like that place but they have a system for what your talking about.
You could try this

A guy I know runs a machine shop that makes stuff like you're wanting- the stuff is suprisingly affordable, and he's pretty flexible about changing stuff around. He uses the storage boards for all his tools, so I know it's stout.
