Hi everyone. For a rustic pine floor on a post and beam house I have thoght and read about :
1) Oil finish,2) Poly finish or 3) a combination of both
I want to backprime and stain the pine darker so I thought why not seal with 1 lb cut shellac, stain the top, and wipe on a few coats of thinned out oil based poly? I am leary on putting on a poly topcoat film instead of wiping like an oil finish. I have used some wiped on Behr Scandinavian Tung oil finnish in a bedroom but find the surface quite dry and dull . Any suggestions?
