I would appreciate input re labor cost per foot for running pine 3/4x1x4 with radiused edge which needs to be coped and base shoe also coped. Also labor price for hanging interior doors. hinges are already set in cases, doors being switched from cheap hollowcore to 4 panel. I need to rout three hinge mortices, bore and set for kwiksets.

George,
Labor costs will vary from place to place.
They will also vary from man to man.
Figure how long it will take YOU to do the work, and there's your labor cost.
Hope your jambs are straight.

*Do you have a hinge mortising template? Door boring kit? Do you have to install hardware? Are you using the old strike plates? Are the doors gonna fit? Or are you gonna hafta plane and cut and screw around with them? How many are there? Can you set up in a central area and work efficiently? or do you have to carry doors to the basement? Do you have the building to yourself? Do you have to be carefull of vinal/carpet? These are all questions you need to ask yourself before you decide how long it will take you. At least 1.5 hrs/door.I'd say somewhere between 200+300 lin' base a day, depending on size of the rooms, and quality of the construction. That's if I have the building to myself, it is empty, and the base meets up well with the casings. Do you have to putty holes? You might consider investing in Jim Tolpin's book "Finish Carpenter's Manual". He gives straight forward advice on most basic trim installations, with a labor chart for each type of work. I usually check my bids against his recommended man/hour predictions, and he averages out about right. That book is a huge help to me when I bid work.
