I’m thinking of installing a glueless laminate floor in my basement but I’m not sure if it’s the right product to use. Will it hold up? What maintenance problems will I have? Who makes a good product? Will I like it better than a real wood floor or will I be disappointed?

There was a recent discussion on laminate flooring you might be interested in, both pros and cons. It started on 11/24, if you run a search for laminate flooring you should be able to find it. If I knew how to post links to previous threads I would do so. Can anyone explain how to do that?
I just copy and paste the url from the address bar. Like this. I think this is the thread you were referencing

How DRY is your bsmt? Since the backing (read most of the thickness) of laminate floors is something akin to masonite (read compressed cardboard) the worst thing for laminate floor is water. Be it vapor, liquid, steam, or a trickle, never mind a flood. Perasonally, I have lam floor in my kit, (glued together, not snapped) and love it, however, when talking basements, I would think twice then probably not do it.
When all else fails, ask piffin.

I've installed in a past house a "floating" parquet wood floor on sleepers over 3/4" ply with no problems in 15 years. My basement was dry. If yours isnt then think again about any kind of flooring other then astro turf (unglued). If your floor is dry then there are absolutly no issues IMHO.
Be well
