We are choosing a new laminate floor system for our new addition and have been told by the salespeople that the new Pergo Paradigm, with the water activated glue for the joints is much better than the “click” together. Has anyone had experience with click together laminates: how have the seams held up under real world conditions? It has been suggested that the seams get dust in them and become visible.
It seems to me that when laminates first came out they were to be glued at the seams. Then the glueless (clueless) became the rage. Easier to install…no mess…Now we’re back to a glued seam. The glue is applied at the factory and the installer uses a water bottle applicator having a sponge tip to “activate” the glue. It is a little more expensive (naturally). Seems like a lot of marketing.
