Hello:
I tried to glue the laminate to the MDF board and it is not sticking. First, I used a product called “BondRite WC75” spray. When I sprayed it, it came very gummy.
So, I waited and went to Home Depot and brought “Weldwood” contact cement. I applied it directly over the “Bondrite” on both the Laminate (which did not have any “Bondrite” applied”) as well as the MDF (which did have the “Bondrite” applied). Waited 30 minutes before trying to glue it and put it together but it is not sticking.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Can I salvage what I have?

Sounds like you let it dry enough. Probably just a bad product. Sorry to hear it.
You might be able to remove it with paint thinner.

I see you posted this at the Festool web site.
I'm like the last guy that replied to you. I can't find the BondRite product with a web search.
You may have a product incompatability problem, but without any information on the BondRite product, it is hard to say.
Is the BondRite an import product ?
For a router table top, it may just be cheaper to toss it and start over.
I've had great success using melamine-faced stock for such uses; despite the thinness of the melamine, wear has not been a problem. Similar in many ways is the phenolic plywood that was touted in a recent issue of Fine Woodworking. Otherwise ... if you really must use laminate on mdf ... a couple tips:
1) Formica markets their own contact cement. As you might guess, it works real well;
2) I've had to put three, even four coats of glue on the substrate for a sure bond. I don't know why this is - I never used to have to do this - but two coats is barely enough; and,
3) Even very minor amounts of dust will greatly interfere with the bond. Clean product, clean shop, clean you - and clean air, please!
Same here, although I'm not much of Formica brand fan.
I used the melamine faced sheet goods for mt table saw extension. The wear point I have are where i hit it with a belt or orbital sander when using the saw as a bench.
I have no particular opinion as to the Formica brand as far as the laminate material is concerned .... but they seem to have hit upon a winner with their contact cement. I've seen the Formica brand contact cement being used by many other trades - for example, I saw it used to hang sheet metal on the wall behind the stoves in a commercial kitchen. Another guy used it to hang acoustic tiles on a wall. What impressed me was that both of these guys, when asked, admitted the stuff was expensive- but swore it worked better than other, similar products.
Adhesive is great.
It's the p-lam I'm not fond of. They reduced the wear layer or something about 15 years ago. The stuff wears out to quick. For the same money Wilson Art has a longer life.
Haven't tried thier color core product, it may be as good as Wilson Art.
Course my local WA distriputor has spoiled me with support for the last 30 years, and I'm a real small fish in thier pond. Formica distributor just blows me off.
I've glued laminate to MDF without any trouble using the standard contact cement they sell at the box stores. I think the product I used might have been from Wilsonart - but I'm not sure.
