My old Sharpe finish spray gun recently passed away. I do cabinetry for personal use, slightly more than occasional. The local paint store carried only high priced airless guns, or airguns w/ expensive setups. I just want to spray Valspar Laquer so I bought a cheap Sharpe FX200. I went to spray my new maple and purple heart desk for my daughter and quickly became frustrated. No matter what pressure I used, I couldn’t get enough volume for the laquer to “flow”, resulting in dimpled and scattered finish. On a small piece (drawer front) I could get enough laquer to make it flow, but on the the larger pieces, no luck. I also got laquer buildup on the nozzle and some dripping. I played w/ the pattern adjust and of course the volume – no luck. Can someone recommend a better gun? My Hitachi 4 gal. compressor has worked in the past, so I don’t think that’s the culprit. Thanks, Dave

I use a accuspray lvlp. I spray it with a 4 gal 1 1/2 hp emglo. Compressor runs alot but the gun never has to catch up.
