large point loads on cement pads (crawlspace or basement)?
If you have a point load, ie column load on a pad in a crawlspace or basement, do you use a standoff base to raise a WOOD column off of the concrete? I have been told not to use presure treated posts since they are made from “cheap White Pine” and my loads are pretty big. What have people seen or done?

IRC, if that applies in your area, says PT within 12" of soil.
Are you saying all cripple walls in a crawlspace on strip footing would be made of PT? I have never seen that except for the bottom plate of that wall.
section 317, somewhat open to interpretation.

Stem Wall
You just need to pour a 12" stem wall.
Steel.
