I think one of those small mufti-beam laser tools could be a good time saver. Any recommendations or justifications?

....I think you're right.. we use the PL-3...but if you're doing suspended ceilings, you probably want a Rotator, such as Robo-laser..
my K&E Builders Level/Transit now has an honored place on the shelf.....
*b Kitch,Whatever you do, make sure that you buy a laser that is SELF-LEVELING. You spend a fortune for this feature, but it's worth every penny. The small ones that aren't self leveling, if you set it wrong or someone bumps it, you are thoroughly screwed.I mainly use mine for drop ceilings and laying out buildings. I have a Spectraphysics laser with all the bells and whistles and it cost me $5850.00. However, you can expect to spend $800-1,600 and walk away with a decent laser. I'll tell you what...... > They rock for hanging cabinets and chair rail in large spaces.

We are usually about two light years behind you guys here in Oz, but I highly recomend my Spectra-Physics unit. It has one vertical beam and two horizontal beams at 90 degrees to each other, all with 25mm (thats an inch old speak) offset, self levelling, two AA bateries last for months, all in about the size of two cig packets. Cost $700 Aussie dollars(thats probably about 38cents US !)
