I am looking to buy alaser level I mostly work, alone can any one give me a suggestion on a good all around level I was considering a cst/berger lm30 with an opptional remote control wich i thought would be handy for one person I looked at a robo laser with a romote but it looked and felt like a cheepie i would appriciate any suggestions

I bought a Topcon laser 5 years ago and it has given me much grief in the last two years. On the advice of my surveyor, I bought a Spectra Physics laser to replace it. A bit pricey but built like a tank and it has some nice features. I use these tools for footer and grade work. For general plumbing, leveling, transferring points, etc I bought a PLS 5 about 5 years ago when they were new on the market and cost a grand. This has been one of the most useful tools i have ever owned and you can get one at tool crib for $590. We do new construction and we don't even use a bubble level to plumb walls anymore, the pls is far more accurate.
