Thanks to all of you that helped me out with the FJ clapboard question. Now that all the pre primed cedar is on its way should I invest in a siding gun? we have about 40 sq to put up. I’ve always hand nailed in the past…what little I’ve done. Is that considered old school. Anybody know if the siding gun will really keep the nail head flush?

Siding guns will set the nails properly. I have a hitachi nv65ah. I understand some people still like to hand nail cedar since it is fairly easy to nail.
Cedar.... hand nail always. Sometimes you will get a softer board than the others. Handnail cedar always!
even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
