First, thanks to everyone who gave me advice on how to cut curves in the ceramic tile for my bathroom. It came out beautiful. Now, my next project is to replace the laundry room floor. It had a terrible looking peel and stick vinyl floor covering on it with some rot under where a washer sat.
What is a good durable flooring material for this application? I like the ceramic tiles (since there are no curved cuts) but worry that they are too brittle for all of the heavy appliances that will be moved in and out of there. Vinyl sheet linoleum is another option but it seems to be prone to tearing.
The room is 14 x 8′ and will have a washer, dryer, freezer and small table in it. What is the preferred flooring for this application?

Tile done right is a good choice for what you are doing. No matter your choice, get a couple of 3'x3'x1/8'' masonite pcs to place under the appliances you want to move.

My only suggestions, based on experience, is to be sure to use a grout color that will hide the dirt/water/grime associates with a mudroom OR be sure to seal the grout prior to foot traffic.
My dumb*** selected a antique white grout that matched very well with the tile selected, got lazy and did not seal and consequently spent a lot of time using a grout colorant/sealer to make things look better.
Got a good set of knee pads out of it though!
