Due to some last minute changes in the remodeling of our house, I am now the proud owner of a Velux venting sklight and a Crestline vinyl casement window that I have no use for. Any suggestions on how to find someone who can use them? I’m not trying to get my money back, maybe just a donation write off, or a few bucks so I don’t feel like a complete idiot for buying these things. I tried Habitat, they didn’t want them.

Where are you, what size, what finish, model number?
I'm in Chicago. Don't have the exact info, I can get it and post here in a couple of days. The skylight is unfinished pine inside, brown aluminum (?) outside. I also got the blind kit to go with it. Its about 30 x 30. The casement is all white vinyl, about 36 x 45. I only called Habitiat National office. I should try the local one. I looked into e bay, didn't see any similar items for sale, but maybe I should try that.
You might try the classified right here?

We have a Thrifty Nickle paper here that is a great place to advertise stuff like that. The first section I flip to now that we are building a house is "building materials", then "tools." I've found some great bargains that way. Your window sounds like something I might call and check on if you were local.Kevin Halliburton

Maybe the habitat builders don't want it, but around here, most habitats run a re-sale store of contruction left-overs that are donated.
Have you thought of putting them up on e-bay?
Again, where are you located? I'll buy the skylight. Have you thought about a classified ad in the sunday paper? In Portland, we have a discount ad classification for stuff people want to sell inexpensively, in addition to a building materials category. Don't give up!
Many areas have regular auctions that specialize in building materials and equiment. They don't seem to be well publicized, but can be a gold mine once located.
