Hello,
My name is Dan and I am a 42 year old American carpenter from San Francisco living here in sunny Amsterdam. I moved here six years ago to work and am living with my Dutch wife who is expecting our first child in January. Although I posted questions here in the past, I never really introduced myself properly. Working here is very different than in California and I really miss the spirit of innovation and improvisation that I found in the states.I also miss wood framing as we do a lot here with brick and cement. I look forward to hearing all the great answers to my questions.
Thanks, Dan

Re: "My name is Dan and I am a 42 year old American carpenter"...
Sounds like introductions at an AA meeting.
My name is 4Lorn1 and I am a tool addict and electrician that has taken enough voltage to keep your average flashlight lit without need of batteries... LOL.
Howdy Dan. Good to hear from you. Welcome. I'm sure you will fit right in. Mostly good folks here. Mostly good advice.
My name is Huck, and I'm a contractaholic. Its driving my family to poverty, but I can't seem go give it up. It takes all my time and energy, but I can't seem to give it up. I can't admit that I have a problem. I wake up every morning thinking "today will be different - today I'm going to come out ahead of this game." And every night I go to bed thinking "maybe tomorrow". Is there hope for me?
Hello Dan.
I'm Bos'n, and I'm also a tool adict. And curiously also an electrician. And a hobbyist boat-builder, and carpenter, and woodworker, and most importantly, a Dad.
If you haven't drawn blood today, you haven't done anything.
