I am renovating a walkout basement level bathroom. Mud floor bonded to the slab. Mud and tile thickness about 1-1/2 inch. I want to level up the area where a built in vanity was, and then tile over the entire floor with ceramic or stone. I have been to the tileusa site, I have read about tile over tile. What do I use to level the footprint of the removed vanity?

Is the hole 1-1/2" deep? A bag of sakrete would work. If it's less than that, then there are floor levelers available ... make sure it can be poured to the right depth, as some are for not moire than 1/4" thick.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
to level cement just sweep it with a broom, but be careful not to step in it or you will track it everywhere.
