Lighting technique for sloped ceiling?

All, Please help me with a lighting question: I finished my attic, and I put four recessed lights in the ceiling, which work fairly well, but since the slope of the roof and ceiling are 12/12, the recessed lights point towards the middle of the room and are a little harsh. I’ve read that lights are less harsh if they are reflected off the walls, so can someone advise a way to direct the light from these can lights towards the sides of the room so the light will be reflected off the ceiling and walls? I am familiar with the eyeball type trim, but the ones I’ve seen are not very attractive and seem to block a lot of the light so I was wondering if there are other methods to accomplish the desired effect….. Thanks,
Franco

Franco,
It is a little late but, cans whose angle adjusts above the ceiling are available - but you may not have had enough space to accomodate them in a residential attic - they are pretty tall.
I assume you have tried a flood bulb rather than spot bulbs.
Could try a closed diffuser type trim - though they generally require much lower wattage bulbs.
How about a "wall washer" trim - they will rotate so you could direct the light any direction?
Much of this depends upon what you are trying to achieve with the lights - general room illumination or what.
Go to the can manufacturer's website and see what they have available.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
