Has anyone used Loewen windows? Canadian company. I ran into someone who was a big fan of them. He said that they had insulation values far superior to Marvin/Andersen/Pella and that if ordered for a whole house, they could be comparable in price to M/A/P triple pane.
Anyone out there using them?

I used their triple pane windows throughout the house I built for myself. Outstanding quality, and great looking when stained. Their doors are also very nice. There was a couple of minor problems with the windows they sent- a bent screen & a non functioning lock, but they sent replacement parts within a couple days of me contacting them.
I looked at Marvin, Pella, Anderson & Lowen, and Lowen came out on top.
Not a pro, but I've installed several different styles of Lowen windows. Solid wood (fir as I recall) and very well built. To me, they are a step above Andersen, Hurd, etc. and for the prices I was getting, cost a little more, too.

Keep an eye on your mailbox John, we just did an article about choosing replacement windows and it should be arriving any day now. But from what I've heard, Loewen was great to deal with on our end.
I presume that is the one on the Taunton home page with the guy holding a window? As of Wednesday, haven't received it yet. Now that the anticipation is rising, I hope its a good article ;)

We put Loewen windows in a timberframe I am building, and I was happy with the quality/price. Not cheap, but the look of the dg fir is really nice when oiled- better than pine....... IMHO
I've installed the glass sliders, awnings and casements and been very happy with them and with their service.
