Anyone know where I can get long lengths (17 feet prefered, but I’ll take anything over 10 feet) of 1 3/4″ wide 5/16″ thick clear quartersawn red oak strip flooring?

17' is too long to ship for flooring.
Most custom floor makers can make strips that long.
You will pay a lot.
I have several red oak trees with that much clear length, so I suspect that others also do.
*Dan:Why 17 foot lengths? Your description of 1 3/4" X 5/16" is unusual. You'll need to elaborate on this. Try Jeff Hosking as he has the resources to custom mill anything you desire. Ditto on George's comments on price. Contact Jeff at floorboards.com
*Before buying your wood, make sure you can get it milled with T&G edges if that's what you want. I couldn't find a shaper cutter for 5/16 T&G about 2 yrs ago and CMT wanted $600+ for a set to be made special. My stuff was fairly short so I did it on the TS for the groove, and 2 passes on the shaper for the tongue but no way would I do 17' on the TS.
*20 ft is about as long as you'll be able to get sawn, Without a lot of extra effort, so you should be able to get 17 ft. Get them to saw 1"x6" 20 ft. long. you'll have to pay extra to get them to sticker something that long. Now once they are dry you'll have to find someone willing to saw those monsters into strips, and then has a big enough shop to run them through his mill. That means he need 20+ ft. in front of the shaper and 20+ ft. behind. Plus the people to handle something that long. It can be done, (In fact if you want I'll do it for you, but wow!!! will it cost!!!!) are you sure that you want 17 ft. and not a typical rancom length? It will have to be shipped truck frieght and that too will add to the cost. We are talking really serious money here.
*I take it you are in the San francisco Bay area, since that is where all of the 5/16 face nailed strip is routinely installed. No tongue and groove, by the way. Try Golden State Flooring in SF or Sacramento. They can have it milled. GW
